October Update: United Academics of Oregon State University

We have had a busy few months of learning, organizing, and socializing together with our colleagues. In July, activists attended the AAUP Summer Institute, where we were able to connect with faculty unionists from across the country. The Summer Institute offered a number of sessions focused on organizing and the important work faculty unions do to improve higher education. We also hosted events that brought together OSU faculty from across both the state and the wide range of disciplines in which we work, teach, and study. At our recent Summer BBQ, we came together to celebrate the close of another summer and to energize ourselves for a busy year of organizing ahead. As the school year begins, we will continue to connect with our colleagues—new and returning—to build our union. We look forward to an exciting year ahead.
