AAUP members, you’re invited to the AAUP Oregon Annual Meeting!

Spring term is here, and we’re entering the final stretch of this academic year. As the weather begins to warm up and we see the sun a bit more (we hope), it’s time for AAUP Oregon’s members to congregate, build community, and share what they’ve been up to over the last year.

So, it is with great excitement that I’d like to officially announce this year’s AAUP Oregon Annual meeting! This in-person event will take place on May 20th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Corvallis. Registration for the annual meeting is free to all AAUP Oregon members. Space is limited, however, so please register here as soon as you can. Registration will close at the end of the day on May 12th.

What can you look forward to at the AAUP Oregon annual meeting? Lots!

We will have updates from our locals and Legislative Committee on recent events influencing higher education in Oregon. We’ll be hosting a plenary panel discussion of Higher Ed Labor United (HELU) activists about the role we all play in building a unified national higher education labor movement. After lunch, we’ll have breakout sessions to share information, skills, and strategies to advocate for three issues that deeply affect everyone on campus: the national assault on academic freedom, institutional board reform, and building a more equitable institution.

Best of all, we will have the opportunity to reconnect, share a meal, and work together in solidarity.
